The Mavericks are at it again with taking shots at the Thunder. Today it was Mavericks owner Mark Cuban saying not Russell Westbrook is not a superstar. Cuban claims that Westbrook is an All-Star but is not at superstar level status like his man Dirk is at.
It is pretty quite ridiculous for Cuban to say this about Westbrook. Westbrook has been putting numbers up unlike any other players in the league. Westbrook tied the record that Magic Johnson set for most triple-doubles in the past thirty years. Westbrook is also destroying Cuban’s own team in this series. His low for assists in the series is six and his low for points is 19. Westbrook is one of all four players to get 25 points and 15 assists in an away playoff game.
When asked to further explain his comments Cuban said:
“Russell’s certainly an All-Star, but I consider Durant a superstar. You look at Dirk all those years to now, he carries teams to 50 wins. To me, that’s (what makes a superstar) … when you by yourself… it wasn’t until we got J-Kidd that we had another Hall of Famer. So, to go the 15 years where Dirk won 50, that’s a superstar. There’s only a few games that you put them on any team and they’ll win 50 games. To me that’s the definition of a superstar.”

If truly did see Cuban’s comments before the game then he will surely make the Mavericks eat those words.
