Kevin Durant decided that he does not want to be like several NBA players and that he wants to play in the Olympics no matter the risk. Durant’s teammate Russell Westbrook decided to skip out on the Olympics, as did Durant’s old teammate and friend, James Harden. Durant is different than those two though, he knows how special of an opportunity this is and he will not miss out on it. Take a listen to Durant’s thoughts on playing this summer.

Durant playing in the Olympics as lead some to believe that he is staying in Oklahoma City to play for the Thunder. The reasoning behind that thinking is that Durant would only have one or two weeks max with his new team before he left to go play for Team USA.
It would make sense for Durant to stay with the Thunder and play in the Olympics since training with them is less important than it would be with any other team. Durant knows the Thunder, their system, and his teammates. Durant loves basketball and has declared that that is all his decision this summer will be about. Should be no surprise that Durant decide to play this summer, and it should be no surprise when Durant declares that he will be staying with the Thunder.
