For once in a long time a Thunder player not named Kevin Durant or Russell Westbrook has been put in the spotlight. That player is Enes Kanter and he completely deserves it. Kanter is averaging 12.4 points and 7.8 rebounds so people are finally talking about him being in the conversation for Sixth Man of the Year. Since he is in said conversation he got to make a guest appearance on ESPN Radio’s Russilo and Kanell.
While on the show Kanter was asked a variety of questions about the other two superstars on his team. What he said about Westbrook is that he likes to call him “Russell Beastbrook.” A fitting name for the fierce power that Russ plays with when he is on the court. Kanter also went on to say that Beastbrook could play 40 minute games back-to-back. “He just doesn’t get tired,” Kanter proclaimed.
With Kevin Durant’s free agency coming up this offseason Kanter was also asked about the relationship Beastbrook and KD have off the court. In the past the media has said that they are not friends and cannot get along, Kanter said just the opposite.
“These two guys get really close off the court. It motivates everybody. It makes everybody better.” Kanter is a great inside source to listen to when it comes to all things KD and Beastbrook. According to him the two players only make the team better with their off court relationship, not worse like some would lead you to be.
The Thunder are currently on a roll and have the longest active winning streak in the NBA. Everyone seems to be clicking and they might be the hottest team going into the playoffs in a couple weeks.
